Net-Metering Systems (for Households)

[fruitful_tab title=”General Information” icon=”facebook”]Under the new Renewable Energy promotion projects in Cyprus, 5000 homes per year will have the right to install a photovoltaic system of maximum 5kWp.[/fruitful_tab]

Sponsorships:
In 400 homes per year will be given a grant for the installation of the system based on criteria (See. Next paragraph). The rest of the 4600 year will not receive funding but even so the depreciation period for the cost will not exceed the three years.
The grant is 900 € for each 1kWp and reaches 2700 € for maximum system that can be installed (3kWp).
Sponsorship Beneficiaries:
- Recipients of public welfare assistance office
- Recipients of Severe disability allowance
- Recipients of benefits to pensioners with low incomes, provided that they have completed their 70th year of age and not cohabit with another person who has not attained 70 years of age.
- Recipients of care allowance in paraplegic / quadriplegic people
- Recipients of sponsorship as blind
- Large families receiving child benefit for three dependent children and over with a gross annual family income up to € 51.258 (for each additional child beyond four increases incrementally in € 5.126)

[fruitful_tab title=”What is Net Metering?”]The purpose of Net Metering is the consumer to pay as little as possible for electricity due to producing energy through photovoltaic systems.
The meter of EAC which is placed in homes showing the kilowatt hours (kWh) consumed in every two months and based on this indicator calculates the amount to be paid after adding some fees, surcharges, various charges, VAT etc.
Roughly, each domestic consumer pays for each kWh consumed approximately 0,28 €.
In the case of Net Metering one meter calculates the difference between the kWh consumed and kWh produced from the Photovoltaic System and eventually only this difference will be paid.
Ideally consumers should produce as much they consume so to have zero behalf of EAC.
The system of 3kWp will save about 1400 € per year from the accounts of the EAC.
(If your electricity needs are smaller then install smaller / cheaper system (eg 2kWp), if on the other your needs are more then you just will only pay the difference)[/fruitful_tab]
[fruitful_tab title=”Investment-Time Schedule”]Based on the timelines set by the EAC for the examination of applications and the time required for installation of the system the system will be connected to the network and ready to generate power at the latest within one month from the day of application.[/fruitful_tab]

[fruitful_tab title=”Photovoltaic System”]The system comprising from 12 European photovoltaic panels of power 250Watt, aluminum bases and an inverter. For the system of 3kWp will require free space around 20-50m2 on the roof of the house or the land within the site. Where there are ceiling tiles then the space requirement will be about 20m2. Each frame has a weight of only 20kg and so the building will not be subject to any problem of static strength.[/fruitful_tab]
[fruitful_tab title=”Application Procedure”]The beneficiaries of the grant must apply first to the Energy Foundation which will provide authorization for the right of sponsorship and then will apply to EAC. The non-beneficiaries of sponsorship will apply directly to the EAC.
In both cases, our company will assume no cost for preparing applications, the techno-economic study of the electrical design and all other documents will be required.[/fruitful_tab]

[fruitful_tab title=”Financial Benefits”]FINANCIAL BENEFIT OF A PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM OF 3kWp FOR HOUSES
The production of a photovoltaic system capacity 3kWp placed at firm foundation stands at 5185kWh annually based on weather data in Cyprus.
Roughly, each domestic consumer pays for each kWh consumed approximately 0,28 €.
So the P / V system will save approximately 1450 € from the EAC accounts annually.
The largest production takes place during the summer months due to greater sunshine something which is consistent with the consumption needs of the house (use of air conditioning).
If there was more production from the photovoltaic system than the consumption needs of the home, then this action will not perish but will be credited to the next bill until next year’s April bill.
To achieve the above yields decisive role played by the system equipment to be used. Our company has the basic motto of excellent quality and reliability of P/V panels and the inverter and the proper and maximum effective operation of the system in the long term.
